Wicked Awesome Wishes Grants New Room for Leukemia Survivor
After completing our Wicked Awesome Wishes Partnership with Mojo in the Morning, wishes continued to pouring in … we couldn’t stop granting wishes just because the holidays had come to an end! Our Wicked Awesome Wishes Board got together and read through every single email, request, message and post of those asking us for help.
Monique sent us an email that stuck out and we had to help her put a smile on her son’s face! She wrote us about Anthony, her 17-year-old son that has overcome obstacles and difficulties in life. Anthony has suffered from Leukemia and, after conquering that battle, was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome.
Now in his senior year of high school, he’s lost two of his grandparents, and then their family lost everything to a house fire. To top it off, his best friend committed suicide leaving Anthony depressed and not feeling like himself.
Because of the fire, the family moved into another house and Anthony was sleeping on a small mattress in their unfinished basement. Monique’s wish was for us to come in and help give Anthony a room so he would spend more time at home with their family instead of leaving to sleep at his friends’ houses almost every night for more accommodating sleeping arrangements.
We HAD to help Monique and her son get the room of his dreams!
Thanks to the Lady Jane’s team that went in and painted and renovated the space, My Carpet Guys that donated the brand new carpet for the room, and Fathead for helping put the “Chicago Bulls” theme in place. It was definitely a Wicked Awesome room for Anthony!
